Energy Trust of Oregon announces cash incentives for energy efficiency charrettesOctober 06, 2008 Developers eligible to receive $2,000 to host energy efficiency and renewable design charrettesThe Energy Trust of Oregon is offering incentives of up to $2,000 for developers who support design charrettes to incorporate energy efficiency and/or renewable energy features into their development projects. To be eligible for the incentive, the Energy Trust requires developers to assemble a multidisciplinary team of experts, including a facilitator, to identify energy efficiency opportunities and goals and develop a plan to achieve those goals. The Energy Trust incentive coincides with the launch of the Earth Advantage Sustainable Community (EASC) standard, which offers certification points for undertaking charrettes.
Interested developers are encouraged to contact the Energy Trust for complete eligibility requirements and details. Applications are available online at www.earthadvantage.com/incentives.php and are due to the Energy Trust by December 1, 2008. Developers are encouraged to apply promptly since funds are limited.
Earth Advantage, Inc. has endorsed Stefanie Slyman of Slyman Planning Resources LLC as a potential facilitator for developers seeking a team manager. According to Sean Penrith, Executive Director of Earth Advantage, Inc., “In addition to leading the design and development of the EASC program, Ms. Slyman is a skilled facilitator with over 18 years of experience in community planning and development. Her organization creates a strong connection between the incentive program offered by the Energy Trust of Oregon and our EASC Standard.” Slyman can be reached at slymanplanningresources@msn.com.
“Whether or not developers are considering certification as an Earth Advantage Sustainable Community, we hope they will take advantage of this generous incentive from Energy Trust and assess how their projects can contribute to greater energy efficiency and overall sustainability,” says Penrith.
