Earth Advantage Builders Honored at The Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Portland Excellence AwardsFebruary 03, 2007 Portland - OR - The Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Portland (HBA) awarded its annual Excellence Awards last Saturday. These awards recognize outstanding projects or construction practices in over 40 categories to its HBA members. In the Green Home” category - five of the six award winners were Earth Advantage builders. Executive Director for Earth Advantage - Sean Penrith states The HBA has been a good supporter of green building and decided the demand was so strong this past year that they would include a category for green” constructed homes. Having five of the six award winners as Earth Advantage builders is a testimony not only to our program - but the over all interest in green building across the metro area (Portland - OR).” The Green Builders that won the awards are: Single Family Green Home under $500 -000 Builder or Developer who builds over 50 homes a year: Renaissance Homes Single Family Green Home $500 -000 and above. Builder or Developer who builds 10 or less homes a year: Neil Kelly Design/Build Remodeling Builder or Developer who builds between 11-50 homes a year: Intex Custom Homes Honorable Mention: Summerfield Homes Builder or Developer who builds over 50 homes a year: Renaissance Homes Honorable Mention: DeCal Custom Homes Only DeCal Custom Homes are not part of the Earth Advantage family of builders. However - DeCal participates in the ENERGY STAR new homes program and meets that program’s standards and certification. The green builder award winners as well as the building and remodeling excellence winners will be showcased at the HBA’s Portland Home and Garden Show held February 21st to the 25th at the Portland Expo Center. A display booth will feature all the winners for each category in the Housing Resource Center where an Earth Advantage booth will be located as well. |
